Historical Notes: HMS NATAL blown up by an explosion in the after magazine, thought to be faulty cordite, on 30th December 1915 while anchored of Cromarty Firth, Scotland. She was a Warrior Class Large Armoured Cruiser First Class. Built by Vickers, Barrow, laid down January 1904 and completed March 1907. She was part of the 2nd Cruiser Squadron, Grand Fleet.
