Sidney Harold Baker

Sidney Harold Baker was possibly not a "born and bred" Abingdon man. His mother's home address in Bristol is quoted on the Roll of Honour and he joined the Gloucestershire Regiment. However, his father is described as the "late" James Baker so it is also possible that she had moved to Bristol to be with her family after his death and the family had been Abingdon residents prior to this. Sidney Harold Baker appears to have held a live-in teaching post at Abingdon School, giving his home address as School Lodge on Park Road.

He held an MA from Oxford and was listed as a Science Master.
